Test and Inspection Equipment

Continuity Tester
This continuity tester uses a red LED light to transmit light down the fiber, providing identification at the fibers far end. Approximate range is 2.5 km for multimode and 1 km for singlemode. A hybrid patchcord and mating sleeve will enable hook-ups of different connector types.

Light Sources
These Noyes Light Sources are handheld instruments designed for performing insertion loss measurements on fiber optic links when used with an optical power meter. All Noyes OLS models include protective rubber boot, user’s guide, and carry case. AC Adapters are available.

Loss Test Sets
Optical Loss Test Kits include both power meter and light source and are designed for performing insertion loss measurements on fiber optic links.

Kingfisher Microscope Microscopes
NOYES OFS 300 series Microscopes are used for the inspection of optical fiber connectors. By employing the universal 2.5mm adapter cap, it can inspect any standard connector for scratches, dirt or other problems normally associated with poor transmission performance. The OFS 300 offers 60 hours of continuous battery life. Along with the 2.5mm universal cap, a holster and user guide are included.

ORL and Certification Test Sets
These are the industry's fastest and easiest to use Bi-Directional Optical Loss Test Sets (OLTS). Featuring true optically stabilized light sources which require no warm up, they display bi-directional average loss and Return Loss (ORL) in real time. The instrument can also be used as a source & meter, tone generator / detector, or high performance ORL meter.

OTDR's and Accessories
An Optical Time Domain Reflectometer is an instrument used to evaluate optical fibers based on detecting backscattered (reflected) light. An OTDR trace shows fiber attenuation for the system and location and magnitude of any losses from splices, breaks, connectors, and other events along a fiber link.

Power Meters
Optical power meters are used to measure optical power in Premises, Telco or Broadband fiber optic networks. When used with a LED or laser light source, a power meter can also measure the attenuation (insertion loss) of multimode and singlemode cables.

Reference Cable Kits
L-Tron's Reference Cable Kits include (2) 3 meter simplex patchcables and (2) mating sleeves. Used for loss testing, these high quality cables are factory terminated for lowest loss. All mating sleeves have ceramic alignment sleeves.

Visual Fault Locator
Visual fault locators are used during installation and repair to find faults, check continuity, verify a signal path and identify a fiber.
