Mating Sleeves/Adapters |
|
These passive components are sometimes called mating sleeves, adapters or couplers. They are used to mate or unite two connector plugs together. Our mating sleeves are precision made to ensure perfect alignment of connectors thus reducing insertion loss. In most cases, it is a critical part of the system that aligns the ferrule part of the connectors, keeping the fibers in perfect alignment. Mating sleeves with phosphorus bronze alignment sleeves are used for mutimode applications. Ceramic sleeved adapters can be used for both multimode and singlemode applications where a low loss is required.
